ACAI
Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity of acai pulp and seed extract have been demonstrated in in vitro and animal studies and may account for some of the effects attributed to acai. Antioxidant activity of acai has been documented. Potential also exists for use in reducing risk of cardiovascular disease. Acai, a palm of the Euterpe genus, is indigenous to Central and South America and grows in the Amazon estuary, as well as in swamps, upland regions, and floodplains.
Betaine
Betaine is a metabolite of choline and is present in small amounts in foods such as beets, spinach, cereals, and seafood. It is used to decrease homocysteine levels in the blood. Betaine acts as a methyl group donor in the re-methylation of homocysteine to methionine.
