Portion Control Made Easier for the Sports Fan
If you’re trying to lose weight, you’ve got to pay very close attention to portion sizes. You can’t go wrong with measuring cups, but if you’re away from home or just don’t feel like bringing them out, you can use the “eyeball method” – comparing your portion to the size of a familiar object. Here are a few shortcuts for the athletically minded:
Eat Right, Be Bright.
1 cup of dry cereal = a baseball
1 small bagel = a hockey puck
1 cup milk or yogurt = a softball
½ cup ice cream = a tennis ball
2 tablespoons of peanut butter = a ping pong ball
