Apple is Great for Snacking
Grab an apple for a snack, and you’ll be doing your body some good. Here are some core facts:
- About 80 calories per apple
- Completely cholesterol- and fat-free
- An excellent source of dietary fiber, about 5 grams per apple.
- Be sure to eat the skin; otherwise, you’ll lose out on most of the fiber.
Eat one apple a day to support good health.
Apples last up to 10 times longer in the refrigerator than at room temperature. Also: If you’re storing apples along with other fruits and veggies, put the apples in a plastic bag first; they emit a naturally occurring gas that can make the other items ripen faster than you want.
